Yate Town goalkeeper Aaron Sainsbury has been playing with a hip injury for some time and it has been decided that he now needs surgery.
Yate Town manager, Darren Mullings comment on the situation, ”Aaron has been outstanding for this season, his performances have been critical in where we find ourselves, just over half way through the season. I was made aware of the severity of Aaron’s injury, which he has been training and playing with for a number of months. Once he had met with the specialist and surgeon, the decision was made to have surgery at the earliest possible date so that Aaron can recover and complete his rehabilitation so that he is ready for the start of next season”.

Aaron has played in every League and Cup game this season and has made a total of 71 appearances for the club since joining the Bluebells from Paulton Rovers in the summer of 2023 and has kept a total of 14 clean sheets this season. Aaron had surgery earlier this week and everyone at the club wishes him a speedy recovery and we all look forward to seeing Aaron at games soon, to support the Bluebells.
An update on the signing of a new goalkeeper with be announced shortly.
