Club Statement: John Rendell leaves his role as First Team Manager

Club Statement

Following discussions with the Board of Directors of Yate Town FC, the Chairman, Mark Thorne, has today spoken with John Rendell, and it has been mutually agreed that John will leave his role as Manager of the Football Club.

The decision is based on the poor run of performances and results that the team has managed since the beginning of the season.  The start to this season, when coupled with the team’s relegation from the Southern League Premier South Division last season, has been a disappointment to all at Yate Town FC, Directors and supporters alike and the Board felt compelled to act after Saturday’s performance and result.

We are disappointed for John, who is a local Yate man, and has worked tirelessly for the Football Club during his time with us, but sadly it just wasn’t to be. We thank John and wish him well in his future.

Looking forward, Darren Mullings has agreed to take temporary charge of team matters whilst a new Football Club Manager is recruited.  We hope to have the position filled before the end of this month.

If you would like to apply for the now vacant Yate Town Football Club Manager position, please email your interest together with your CV to Mark Thorne at:

Closing date for applications is Monday 18th September 2023 at 5PM.
