Yate Town have signed 33-year-old central defender, Dan Ball, who was with Gloucester City last season. Dan started his career at Bristol City but he was released in the summer of 2012 and joined National League South club Bath City, where he sent ten seasons making over 300 appearances for the club before moving to Taunton Town. He left Taunton in the summer of 2024, with a host of other players, and signed for Gloucester City being a regular member of their squad as they reached the final of the Southern League Premier South Division play-off-final.
Manager Darren Mullings was very pleased to add the experienced defender to his squad following promotion last season and commented, ”Bally is a player that we have been looking to bring in for some time. He is an experienced defender that will add leadership and quality to the team and is another key signing as we prepare for next season.”
Dan Ball, said, “I know a lot of the lads here, who over the past few months have encouraged me to come to the club. It’s close to home and that good for family reasons. I want to do well in this league and I believe that Yate will do just that. I also just enjoy playing football.”
