Yate Town are pleased to welcome back 28-year-old forward Dave Sims-Burgess to the club.
Dave was a product of the youth system at Filton College and his first club was Chipping Sodbury Town where he spent two seasons and helped them gain promotion to the Western League before he secured a move to Southern League side Paulton Rovers for the 2017/18 season.
Dave then moved to Yate Town the following year where he finished as the Bluebells top scorer before returning to Paulton Rovers and scoring 16 goals. He then headed back to Lodge Road, Yate for a second spell and impressive displays grabbed the attention of Bath City who snapped him up in November 2021 but he joined Taunton the following summer.
Dave then joined Swindon Supermarine on loan at the start of November 2023 from Taunton Town and made the move permanently in early January after his release from Taunton having signed for them at the start of the 2022/23 season and was their leading goal scorer with ten goals in his first season.
In season 2023/24 he scored 15 goals for Swindon Supermarine and was also with them last season.
Returning to the club Dave said, ”I am really pleased to be back at Yate Town and looking forward to an exciting year, to scoring plenty of goals and to be teaming up again with a number of players who I know and have played with before.”
Whilst Yate Town manager, Darren Mullings commented, “With pre-season training starting next week it's great to have Dave Sims-Burgess on board who will add options to our attack. We look forward to announcing another signing later on in the week."
