Berkhamsted v Yate Town

Southern League Premier Division South

Saturday 31st January – kick-off 3.00pm

Yate Town travel to Berkhamsted on Saturday – their first ever visit there. The teams met earlier this season, drawing 0-0 at the South West Interiors Stadium in October and the Bluebells will be hoping to build on the recent positive results at Poole and last Saturday against Uxbridge. Both teams had their midweek fixtures postponed due to the wet weather with Berkhamsted’s home game against Hanwell Town called off, as was Yate Town’s game at Farnham.

Form Guide

After finishing in second place in the Southern League Division One Central last season Berkhamsted breezed through the play-offs beating both Hadley and Flackwell Heath 5-0 to gain promotion.

This season they currently sit in 8th position in the table with 40 points from 26 games having won 11, drawn 7 and lost 8 and in the process scoring 35 goals and conceding 33 times.

Their last home defeat was against Chertsey on December 20th when the visitors won 2-1 but in their last home game, on 17th January, they beat Basingstoke 1-0. Their other defeats in their last 10 games were at Walton & Hersham, when the Swans won 2-0 and at home to Poole Town when the Dolphins won 2-1 on 29th November. There have been away wins at Hungerford (3-0), Weymouth (1-0) and at Taunton (2-1). Draws have been, last Saturday, at Sholing, when a late goal from Bradley Wadkins secured a point in a 1-1 draw; the other draws in this period have been at home to Farnham (3-3) and at home to Sholing (1-1).
