With no game on Saturday 23rd September, it’s onto Tuesday 26th September when Yate Town travel to Bishop’s Cleeve for a Southern League Division One South fixture, with a 7.45pm kick-off.

At present, Bishops Cleeve sit in 6th position in the table with 9 points from 5 games – winning three and losing two and are on a good run of form.
Last Saturday (16th September) they won 2-1 at high flying Bemerton Heath Harlequins with goals from Toby Holland and Ross Langworthy. Prior to that, on August Bank Holiday Monday, they defeated Evesham United 3-0 at home, in a local derby, in front of a crowd of 305 but they lost 0-4 at Willand two days before that. Bishop’s Cleeve had previously won 3-1 at Larkhall and opened their season with a 2-5 home defeat by now high-flying Wimborne Town.

In the FA Cup Bishops Cleeve were knocked out at home by Bristol Manor Farm in the First Qualifying Round, the visitors winning 3-2. In the previous round they had won 2-1 at North Leigh and in the Extra Preliminary Round beat Thornbury 1-0.

In the FA Trophy a 6-1 win against Paulton Rovers means that in the Second Qualifying Round this Saturday they are home to Bristol Manor Farm (for the second time this season in a cup competition) before the visit of the Bluebells on Tuesday.

Manager Paul Collicutt strengthened his squad in the summer bring in Ethan Dunbar and Jacob Geedes from Slimbridge, Will Emery from Cinderford Town, Jay Malshanskyj from Melksham and Ben McLean from Yate Town.

The Bluebells will be looking to build on their fine win against Westbury United and Darren Mullings has had a busy week and looks forward to another positive performance and result before the visit of Mousehole to Lodge Road on 30th September.
