Bracknell Town v Yate Town

Southern League Premier Division South

Saturday 14th February – kick-off 3.00pm

Yate Town travel to Bracknell on Saturday, after their mid-week home game against Poole Town was postponed, due to the very wet weather on Tuesday afternoon. With two thirds of the season now completed, the Bluebells will be looking to continue their improved form over the last 14 games, when they have picked up 21 points, following on from just 13 points from their opening 14 fixtures.

Form Guide

After finishing in 18th position last season, in the Southern League Premier Division South, Bracknell Town currently sit in 10th position in the league and 4 points better off than the Bluebells having played one game more, with the side from Berkshire having won 10 of their 29 league fixtures, drawing 8 and losing 11. They have scored 44 goals and conceded 50 goals. Seb Bowerman is their leading goal scorer.

On Tuesday evening, Bracknell draw 1-1 at home to Berkhamsted, taking a second half lead through Gabriel George but Berkhamsted equalised from the penalty spot shortly afterwards. Last Saturday a stoppage time goal from Jeanmal Prosper earned then a point in a 1-1 draw at league leaders Walton & Hersham.

January saw Bracknell play 5 games, starting with a 2-1 defeat at Basingstoke and this was followed by one of the most amazing fight backs of the season, at home to Sholing, who had taken a 2-0 lead at half-time. An 85th minute goal from Giovanni McGregor gave the home side some hope but then three stoppage time goals, one from Gabriel George and two from Seb Bowerman earned all three points for Bracknell Town. This was followed by an impressive 1-0 win at Havant & Waterlooville but the month ended with a home defeat by Plymouth Parkway, with the side from Devon collecting all three points with a 2-0 win.

Previous meetings

Yate Town beat Bracknell Town 4-1 at the South West Interiors Stadium back in November. Chris Zebroski gave Yate Town the lead and an unfortunate own goal by Ethan Burden gave the Bluebells a 2-0 half-time lead. Francis Amartey scored for Bracknell early in the second half but Corey Evans scored shortly afterwards and James Ollis rounded off the scoring, with his first goal for the club.

Before this season’s meeting they last met during season 2022/23 when the Bluebells won 3-0 at Bracknell in November with a brace from Kyle Tooze and Tom Richards also scoring. The game at the South West Interiors Stadium in March saw the visitors win 2-0 and Bracknell also won at Yate in the FA Cup Third Qualifying Round, 3-0, at the start of October.
