Great Western Air Ambulance Charity
Graphic Packaging International
Buoyed by their fine win at Melksham last Saturday manager Darren Mullings, now confirmed as permanent manager of Yate Town FC, will be hoping for a similar display against Exmouth Town this Saturday for the club’s PAY WHAT YOU WANT FIXTURE – after the Bluebells put on their best performance of the season, included a number of new signings in the side, kept a clean sheet and won 3-0.

Let’s see if Yate Town can get an attendance of over 500 for this game so:

So, what’s special about this home game?

Graphic Packaging International will be sponsoring for of our Pay What You Want event. They have recently become close partners of the club as we share the same values of bringing the community together and that is exactly what this weekend’s event is about.

It’s our PAY WHAT YOU WANT game on 21st October against Exmouth Town. The club will have a fire engine courtesy of Avon Fire and Rescue at the ground for the children (and adults) to see and ask questions to the crew. There will be an ice cream van too, courtesy of Vintage Ices and we hope to bring you more news of other attractions. The Great Western Air Ambulance Charity will be selling some of their merchandise and bringing their mascot, Charlie The Bear with them. We will also have candy floss to buy and there will be “Hook The Duck” to play.
The GWAAC merchandise will include toy Charlie’s plus their famous Helipeno Chilli Sauce.
We will be having a bucket collection for our charity of the season – the Great Western Air Ambulance Charity and will also be presenting them with a cheque to them for £720 linked to Mark Thorne’s walking marathon. A percentage of the gate will also be donated to the Great Western Air Ambulance charity.
We will also be having a mascots group from Yate United Under 10’s who will be in attendance and will play ab 6 a side game on the pitch at half-time.
The club are also supporting a local student with his media studies. He will be filming what happens on a match day to produce a video for his course and the club have been working with him to support his aims.

Exmouth Town sit at the foot of the table having just had one win in their nine league games and are managed by Kevin Hill who had vast league experience playing for Torquay United and has managed Exmouth Town since 2018 having previously played for them at the start of his career. Despite their lowly position they knocked high flying Wimborne Town out of the FA Trophy earlier in the season and should not be under estimated in a League where there are no easy games.

So, bring along the family, friends and any football supporters who want a good afternoon out – including Bristol Rovers fans with Rovers away at Burton on that day.
