Following on from their excellent 2-2 draw with play-off contenders Chertsey Town on Good Friday, the Bluebells face Evesham United in a vital fixture as they strive for safety to keep out of the bottom four in the Southern League Premier Division South.
Form Guide
Evesham United, who gained promotion via the play-offs last season, currently sit in 15th position in the league table, three points ahead of the Bluebells, and have drawn 7 of their last 14 fixtures since the start of the year.
They have won just 3 times; at home to Weymouth (1-0) on 10th January and at home to Wimborne (2-1) on 7th February plus a vital 2-1 win at Tiverton on 31st March, which followed on from a 6-1 loss at Havant & Waterlooville in their previous game. The other loses where at Dorchester (0-1), at home to Berkhamsted (0-2) and at Hanwell (0-2). On Good Friday Evesham drew 1-1 at home to Poole Town and with just 4 defeats so far this year, they are a team that are hard to beat. With four games to go, the Robins, have won 10 times this season (the same as the Bluebells) drawing 13 and losing 15 games, scoring 47 goals and conceding 55 times.
Previous meetings
The clubs have met numerous times over the years. Last season, with both clubs ending up being promoted, saw home wins for both sides, with Joe Guest getting the only goal of the game at the South West Interiors Stadium in November and in March, after Lucas Tomlinson had put the Bluebells in front early on, the home side scored twice to gain all three points through Reegan Messenger and Andre Wright.
The teams met this season on 27th December at Evesham with a Corey Evans goal (see below) deciding the game with the Bluebells winning 1-0.
