Form Guide:
In form Falmouth Town, after a slow start to the season when they were hovering just outside the bottom four, following their promotion from the Western League last season, have been on an excellent run of form recently, climbing up the table, having won all of their last 6 games.
They currently sit in 10th position in the League table having won 11 games, drawn 3 and lost 11 scoring 42 goals in the process and conceding 41 having accrued 36 points.
With their last two games, at home to Malvern Town and Bishops Cleeve postponed, this year has seen them win all four of their games, starting with a 1-0 win at Willand Rovers on New Year’s Day, followed by 4-1 win at home to Didcot, a 6-0 win at Thatcham and an impressive 2-1 win at Bideford a couple of weeks ago which resulted in the Cornish club winning the PST Sport Club of the Month Awards for January 2025 for the Southern League Division One South.
Falmouth also won their final two games of 2024, 3-2 at Tavistock and 2-0 at home to near neighbours, Mousehole, on Boxing Day watched by a crowd of 1110. The last time that they dropped points was on 21st December when they lost 1-2 at home to Bemerton.
Previous meetings:
Yate Town met Falmouth Town for the first time in a Southern League match back in November when, a highly entertaining game, ended with a 3-2 win for the Bluebells. Falmouth took the lead in the fifth minute with a goal from Kain Thomas but a James Byrne header brought the teams level only for Luke Barner to restore the hosts lead after 28 minutes.

Stan Wyatt’s about to cross the ball that led to the equaliser from James Byrne.
Will Christopher equalised after 64 for minutes for Yate Town and Ross Stearn put them in front with just over 10 minutes to go, and, with stoppage time virtually over, Falmouth hit the woodwork following a free kick.

Will Christopher, far left, equalises for Yate Town to make the score 2-2.
The only other meeting between the two clubs was back on 11th November 1990 when Falmouth visited Lodge Road in the FA Vase second round, with the Bluebells winning 2-1 thanks to two goals during the first half from Kevin Thaws.
