Match Preview
Yate Town v Gosport Borough
Southern League Premier Division South
Saturday 6th September 2025 – kick-off 3.00pm
Be there to support YOUR local club.
For the third consecutive home League game, Yate Town entertain a team that has graced Wembley Stadium with a final appearance in a Cup competition – this time being Gosport Borough who played the National league side, Cambridge United in the final of the FA Trophy in 2014 - with the Bluebells previous visitors winning the FA Vase at Wembley.
The Bluebells having been beaten in extra time in their FA Cup replay against Westbury on Tuesday evening will be looking for their first win of the season in what has been a difficult start.
Yate Town manager, Darren Mullings, will be hoping that after the cruelling 120 minutes plus on Tuesday evening his selection options are favourable.
With the international break this weekend it is hoped that this will help swell the gate with EFL season ticket holders getting in at a reduced rate.
Form Guide
After finishing in 13th position last season in the Southern League Premier Division South Gosport started this season with a 2-4 reversal at Gloucester City and their first home game ended in a 3-3 draw at home to newly promoted Farnham Town. Their first win came in the following game with a 3-1 home win against Berkhamsted but defeats against Uxbridge and Walton & Hersham ended their August League fixtures. They got their FA Cup campaign off to a good start beating fellow Southern League Premier Division South side, Basingstoke Town, 2-1 at Privett Park.
