Yate Town v Holyport
FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round
Saturday 3rd August 2024 – kick-off 3.00pm
Yate Town’s 2024/2025 campaign starts off at home, with an FA Cup tie against Holyport from Step 5, who play in the Combined Counties Football League - Premier Division North and are based just outside Maidenhead.
After 6 pre-season friendlies, and some excellent signings, Yate Town manager, Darren Mullings, the players and backroom staff, the officials at Yate Town FC and the fans are looking forward to the season starting after all the hard work that has gone on during the close season.
With the last 2 pre-season friendlies at the South West Interiors Stadium, the Bluebell fans have had a chance to look at the new squad and will hopefully turn up in their numbers to see the first competitive match of the season.
The FA Cup draw has paired Yate Town with Holyport for the second season running, with the 2 clubs meeting for the very first time, last season, on 19th August 2023 in the Preliminary Round, with the Bluebells winning 1-0, with a Sam Pashen goal just before half-time.
The winners of Saturday’s game will play either Kidlington or Tuffley Rovers, away, on Saturday 17th August in the Preliminary Round of the FA Cup.

Our opponents:
Last season Holyport finished in 5th place in the Combined Counties Football League Premier Division North with 61 points – their best ever season but then manager Sam Lock departed and was replaced by Adam Hopkins, in June, who had previously been at Sandhurst.
Holyport have played a number of pre-season friendlies before today’s game starting with a game to celebrate their 125th anniversary when National League Maidenhead were the visitors on 6th July but the Step 1 club turned out easy winners scoring six times without reply. Holyport then travelled to Woodley United on 9th July but ended the evening winning 12-1. The following week Holyport played away, losing 0-1 at Ascot United and a couple of weeks ago they won 3-1 at Yateley. They returned home to play Marlow on 25th July but lost 1-6 with their final pre-season friendly was last Saturday against Chalfont St Peter, when Holyport put in a positive performance to win 4-2.
