Tuesday 12th November 2024 – kick-off 7.45pm

Be there to support YOUR local club.

Mousehole AFC is the most westerly football club in the National League system. Their ground is located just outside the village of Paul, which overlooks Mousehole and Mounts Bay in West Cornwall. The club comprises men’s first team, development teams, a women’s team, U18 and several youth teams.

Following on from their 1-0 win at home to Westbury United on Saturday, Yate Town will welcome back captain Joe Guest for this game and hope to have most of the squad now available with just Ewan McMillan a long-term injury.

Form Guide:

Mousehole have lost just one of their last five League games and on Saturday they beat Bristol Manor Farm, in Cornwall, with three late goals from Tim Dixon, Ross Derham and Max Hill. Previous games saw them draw 2-2 at Cinderford, they lost 1-2 at home to Tavistock and prior to that a 3-2 win at home to Bemerton and a 1-1 draw at Exmouth. Bristol Manor Farm had visited Mousehole earlier in the season and won 2-0 in the FA Trophy at the start of October and Melksham were also victorious winning 4-2 there last month too.

They have regular goal scorers in Hayden Turner, who scored at the South West Interiors Stadium last season, and Mark Goldsworthy.

Mousehole currently sit in 6th place in the league table with 7 wins from their 13 games and have amassed 23 points so far this season, having last season, reached the play-offs, going out to Frome Town in the semi-finals, having finished in 5th place.

Previous meetings:

Last season was the first time that the 2 clubs have met with Mousehole playing in Step 4 for the first time in their history following their promotion from the Western League.

The first game took place on 30th September, just 2 weeks since Yate Town’s new manager, Darren Mullings, had taken over from John Rendell. Yate Town took a first half lead through Will Sage, who fired home from the edge of the area and Darren Mullings was pleased with the first half performance. However, two quick fire goal just after half time from Mousehole through Hayden Turner and Jack-Bray Evans meant that after 58 minutes the Cornish side were in front and any Yate Town pressure was repelled by a well organised Mousehole defence and they returned to Cornwall with all three points in a game witnessed by 266 spectators.

Action from last season’s game at the South West Interiors Stadium.

The return fixture was played on 20th January on a wet and windy afternoon and after just 6 minutes Nick McCootie slotted home a penalty after Calum English-Brown had been fouled in the penalty area. Yate Town deserved the three points, despite some pressure form Mousehole, as the conditions deteriorated, particularly in the second half and the visitors returned home from a game watched by 202 people.
