Yate Town v Portishead Town

Pre-season friendly

Friday 25th July 2025 – kick-off 7.45pm

Be there to support YOUR local club.

Yate Town entertain newly promoted to Step 4, Portishead Town, following their promotion as champions of the Western League Premier Division last season. This was their second successive promotion following on from winning the Western League First Division the previous season, gaining 99 points and in the process scoring 236 goals in those two seasons with hot shot Ethan Feltham scoring 55 goals in 37 games followed by another 31 goals last season.

The two teams played each other in a pre-season friendly at the start of preparations last season with the Bluebells winning 4-2 in a game played at Avonmouth FC, also on a Friday evening.

Action from the last season’s pre-season friendly with Yate Town captain, Joe Guest, in possession.

This game will be the Bluebells fourth pre-season friendly out of seven planned, having won one, drawn one and lost one and with the start of the season just over two weeks away Yate Town manager, Darren Mullings, will be putting the final touches to his squad for the start of next season, as he looks at a number of players on trial. He has also a couple of early injury worries with both James Taylor and Dave Sims-Burgess going off injured during Tuesday evening’s 2-1 win against a Bristol City Under 18 side.

Included in the Portishead squad will be Jamie Adams and Sean Keet, who both played for the Bluebells last season.
