Southern League Premier Division South

Saturday 24th January – kick-off 3.00pm

Be there to support YOUR local club.

Yate Town return to the South West Interiors Stadium for their first home League game in 5 weeks, when Uxbridge are the visitors.

Form Guide

Having gained promotion from the Isthmian League South Central division via the play-off at the end of last season, Uxbridge started this season well and were in third place in the league table when the Bluebells visited them in November – and unbeaten at home in the league. Since then, their form has dipped. Their next 10 league games have seen them win just once, a 2-0 win at Dorchester, a couple of weeks ago. They have picked up a couple of away draws, at Weymouth (0-0) and Hanwell (1-1) and also away from home, lost 1-3 at Poole. It is their home form that has been a problem for Uxbridge with losses against Farnham (2-3), Sholing (0-2) Walton & Hersham (2-3), Bracknell (2-3) and Chertsey (0-1) plus last Saturday when they lost to Plymouth Parkway at Honeycroft.

The Reds currently sit in 13th position in the league, two places and 6 points better off than the Bluebells, having played 3 games more. They have won 8, drawn 9 and lost 10 times, scoring 41 goals and conceding 47 times.

Previous meetings

Saturday’s game will be the fourth meeting between the clubs. Yate Town and Uxbridge first met in season 2009/10 when both games ended in draws. The first game was played on 3rd December 2009 with Marc Hughes scoring for Yate whilst the return fixture on 10th April ended in a 2-2 at Uxbridge with Joe McLennon and Mark Reynolds scoring for the Bluebells. It was only this season, on 15th November, before the clubs met again, with Yate Town winning 3-1 at Uxbridge. After Nnams Nwachuku had given Uxbridge a first half lead, three goals in the closing 10 minutes through Marlon Jackson, Jack Hooper and Rex Mannings inflicted Uxbridge’s first home league defeat of the season.

Action from the game at Uxbridge played on 15th November.
