Yate Town v Wimborne Town

Southern League Premier Division South

7th March 2026 – kick-off 3.00pm

Be there to support YOUR local club.

Yate Town play Wimborne Town at the South West Interiors Stadium on Saturday, and with just 10 league games to go before the end of the season, with 6 at home and 4 away, this is now the business end of the season, when titles are won, promotion is achieved and relegation is avoided or succumbed to. With the Bluebells three points ahead of the bottom four and a superior goal difference to the clubs around them, this looks likely to be an exciting as well as nervous seven weeks coming up for Bluebell fans.

Form Guide

After gaining promotion at the end of season 2023/24 Wimborne finished in 10th position last season, on their return to the Southern League Premier Division South. This season sees them currently in mid-table in 12th position having won 10 games, drawn 10 and lost 10 whilst scoring 43 goals in these 30 games and conceding 40 times. After a good start to the season, in which they beat National League South side Bath City in the FA Cup, their form dipped dramatically in the last few weeks of 2025 and prior to their home win against Taunton Town on Tuesday evening, when they won 1-0 thanks to a first half goal from Lewis Williams, this following three consecutive defeats,  their previous 10 games (and more) saw just one win, 3-0 at home to Hanwell Town on 21st February.  December saw just one point from 5 games and a win against Gosport on 18th November was Wimborne’s last victory in 2025.

Previous meetings

This will be the 22nd time that the clubs have met, with Wimborne winning the last three encounters, 1-0 at Wimborne in October 2023, with a goal from Harry Baker, and 2-0 at the South West Interiors Stadium in February 2024, with goals from Jack Lovell and Matt Burrows,  before going on to win the Southern League Division One South at the end of season 2023/24; an achievement that the Bluebells managed just 12 months later.

Goalmouth action from Wimborne’s last visit to the South West Interiors Stadium in February 2024.

This season the game at Wimborne, in October, saw the home side win 4-1, with two first half goals from Lewis Williams, after Corey Evans had given the Bluebells an early lead. Wimborne added further goals in the second half from Cam Nunn and in added time, by Joe Smith
