Farnham Town 3 Yate Town 1
Sanders (48), Dean 65, 90+4) Jackson (37)
Tuesday 3rd March 2026 Southern League Premier Division South
Yate Town came up just short again when they visited play-off contenders Farnham Town. In a close fought game, when the Bluebells were still in it until Farnham scored their third deep into stoppage time.
Yate Town gave a good account of themselves and were ahead at the interval following a corner, when Omar Taylor-Clarke flicked the ball on for Marlon Jackson to touch home at the far post after 37 minutes, in a half where both sides had created chances in an even contest.
The second half saw Farnham looking for the equaliser and they were rewarded after just three minutes when following a breakaway, the ball was switched across the Yate penalty area for Darryl Sanders to score with a neat finish.
Marlon Jackson went close for Yate and Joe Keeping had to clear an effort of the line for the Bluebells but eventually, with Farnham on top, they went in front after Yate Town lost possession and Owen Dean headed home after 65 minutes. Yate Town made a number of substitutions, with Under 18s players Jacob Batt making his league debut, but against a more composed side couldn’t make a breakthrough and Farnham wrapped the game up in the 94th minute when Owen Dean scored his second goal of the evening, to secure all three points for Farnham, as they look for a third successive promotion.
Yate Town are home on Saturday when Wimborne are the visitors to the South West Interiors Stadium, with the season now having 10 more games remaining for the Bluebells.
