Match Report
Yate Town 0 Berkhamsted 0
Southern League Premier Division South
Saturday 11th October 2025
These two promoted teams fought out a goalless draw which Berkhamsted will be far more pleased with than their hosts Yate Town.
The changes from last week’s game against Poole Town saw Yate Town manager, Darrens Mullings, bring in new signing Alex Monks, for his Yate Town debut in place of Lloyd James, and Lucas Tomlinson started for the injured Rex Mannings.
The first half saw few chances created, with James Taylor shooting over from the edge of the area and Sean Duodu shooting straight at Aaroon Sainsbury. Just before half-time Dan Ball made an excellent challenge to prevent a goal scoring opportunity for the visitors.
The game burst into life at the start of the second half with Marlon Jackson forcing a good save from Berkhamsted goalkeeper Charlie Horlock, seeing his header disallowed for offside and moments later he appeared to be brought down in the penalty area but the referee waved the strong appeals aside.

Marlon Jackson, moments before he went to ground but the referee deemed it not to be a penalty.
Charlie Horlock saved well from Chris Zebroski and a rare effort from Berkhamsted, saw Pierce Mitchell’s header from a corner tipped over the bar by Sainsbury.
Chris Zebroski had a late chance but his final shot lacked enough pace and Horlock ended up making a regulation save.
Despite the Bluebells having the vast majority of possession in the second half they could not find a way through a resolute Berkhamsted defence.
Yate Town maintained their unbeaten home record in the league this season, but the result may well have been different if, what appeared to be a stone-wall penalty early in the second half had been given and converted. A clean sheet is always a positive and they will be tested again on Tuesday evening when they travel to eighth placed Wimborne Town.
