Yate Town romped to victory over a Hungerford side who were reduced to 10 men early in the second half. The Bluebells were full value for their win, with James Olllis scoring a first ever career hattrick, on a cold and wet evening at the South West Interiors Stadium, in a highly entertaining game.
Yate Town manager Darren Mullimgs, made changes from the side that drew at Berkhamsted on Saturday, with Chris Zebroski starting in place of Marlon Jackson, James Hicks making his first start in place of Lloyd James and Jack Hooper coming in for Lewis Hall.
In a fairly even opening 20 minutes, James Ollis just failed to connect with a James Taylor cross and soon afterwards Ollis then had a shot blocked, Charlie Moody firing the rebound just wide.

Former Yate Town forward, Kyle Tooze, shot just wide with an angled shot and former Premier League player, Charlie Austin, tried his luck from 25 yards but Yate Town goalkeeper managed to grab the ball at the second attempt.
Yate started to apply pressure and James Ollis put them in front when he latched on to a Chris Zebroski header after 38 minutes and Alex Monks went close just before half time with a surging run, his shot going just wide.

The second half was only three minutes old when Charlie Moody collected the ball just inside the Yate penalty area but the ball hit his hand and referee Adam Mcanoy pointed to the spot. Hungerford Town captain, Louis McGrory dispatched the penalty with ease to level the scores but five minutes later Hungerford defender Jordan Rose was sent off for throwing a punch at James Ollis.
The Bluebells regained the lead just short of the hour mark when following a corner James Ollis managed to latch on to the loose ball and score past Hungerford goalkeeper, Luke Cairney.

Soon afterwards James Ollis set up Rex Mannings but he fired over from 8 yards when well placed and Ollis headed wide following a cross from James Taylor.
In a rare Hungerford attack, a right-wing cross came to Tyronne Duffus in the Yate penalty area and he managed to slot the ball home to give 10 men Hungerford an unexpected equaliser.
But within a minute Yate had the chance to go in front again when James Taylor was brought down in the Hungerford penalty area and Marlon Jackson, who had come on for Chris Zebroski a few minutes earlier, converted the penalty for his ninth goal of the season.

Marlon Jackson scores from the penalty spot.
Yate Town were now dominant and scored again when, after a wonderful mazy run by Marlon Jackson, he set up James Ollis to score his third of the night and complete his hattrick.

It’s a hattrick for James Ollis as this shot finds the back of the net.
More chances followed with Jack Hooper’s through ball being put just wide of the post by James Ollis and Oli Jenkins had a shot cleared off the line.
Two further goals came in the closing minutes, both created by James Taylor, and firstly Lucas Tomlinson was at the far post in space to score from close range and an almost identical situation saw Omar Taylor-Clarke score his first goal for the club to complete a resounding win for the Bluebells.
This was a vital three points for Yate Town as they move up to 13th position in the league table and are seven points clear of the bottom four with 15 more important games left this season, as they look to secure a mid-table position.
Their next two games are both at home; firstly, to Dorchester Town on Saturday and then to Poole Town on Tuesday 10th February.
