Yate Town are pleased to announce that they have signed 19-year-old midfield player Jerry Lawrence on a one-month loan from Bristol Rovers.

Ahead of the 2022/23 season, Lawrence was promoted to training with the first-team over pre-season, impressing in the first friendly as he scored the second in a 6–1 friendly victory over Melksham Town. On 6 August 2022, Lawrence made his senior first-team debut when he came off the bench as a late substitute in a 4–0 away win against Burton Albion. On 10 October 2022, Lawrence signed his first professional contract with the club, a two-year deal. On 4 November 2022, Lawrence joined Southern League Premier Division South club Salisbury on a one-month loan deal. In January 2023, the loan was extended for a further month. He made 7 appearances scoring one goal. He returned to his parent club in February 2023.
In October 2023, Lawrence joined Tiverton Town on loan, making 11 appearances and scoring twice. He returned to his parent club in February 2024. Having featured in four matchday squads across the season 2023/24 without making an appearance, the club activated a one-year contract extension in May 2024.
Also signing from Bristol Rovers for a month is Ollie Dewsbury, who is on work experience. Ollie is a bright prospect for Welsh football and very highly rated by Bristol Rovers. He has made caps for Wales Youth teams and scored his first international goal against South Korea.

The teenager impressed throughout pre-season scoring in Bristol Rovers first pre season friendly at Melksham Town.
The striker from Wales featured in all three of Rovers’ friendlies and is so highly rated he has already made his debut for the senior team, coming off the bench in the FA Cup clash against Whitby Town last season, making himself the sixth youngest player to ever feature in an FA Cup tie.
