Yate Town 0 Bashley 0

Yate Town welcomed back defender Mike Baker for his third spell at the club and it coincided with the Bluebells second clean sheet in the League this season and a valuable point as they try to rise up the table from the lower reaches of the Southern League Division One South.
Yate manager Darren Mullings brought Ollie Jenkins and Finley Bell back into the starting line up with Aaron Parsons, Dan Dempsey and Dylan Lewis on the bench but despite there being no goals it proved to be an entertaining game with both sides having chances to win it, especially Yate Town in the second half but they came up against Bashley goalkeeper, Ross Casey, in fine form.

EWAN MCMILLAN HEADER

Yate defender Lewis Hall’s fine tackle prevented Jamie Arnold putting the visitors in front and Brett Williams fired wide from a good position, whilst Callum Hutton and Milo Murgatroyd went close for the hosts. Early in the second half Brett Williams fired just wide before Yate took control and Hutton missed an excellent chance from six yards. Bashley responded when Conor Whiteley brought a great save from Aaron Sainsbury in the home goal whilst at the other end Casey saved brilliantly from Ryan Hillier, Hutton and Yate substitute Dylan Lewis as Yate piled on the pressure.

CALLUM HUTTON GOES CLOSE SECOND HALF

Above, Callum Hutton goes close with this second half chance that went just past the post and below, Yate Town goalkeeper Aaron Sainsbury makes a flying save from Bashley’s Conor Whiteley.

Aaron Sainsbury great save

In the end this was a fair result with Yate Town creating a number of very good chances that on another day might well have resulted in a win but for the outstanding performance of the visiting goalkeeper.
