Yate Town hold open training session

The South West Interiors Stadium was a hive of activity on Wednesday evening when the club held an open training session and much more.

The players arrived at 6pm to have their individual photographic taken in their kit plus they performed their own individual gif.

The squad photographs were then taken with the first team squad and then with officials, volunteers and a group of children who were attending (see pictured below).

There then followed a training session on the pitch with all the players involved in various activities prior to the club’s opening fixture on Saturday against Sholing FC.

Below shows James Taylor during the training session.

There followed a period when the children were allowed to join in with the players – an experience that they thoroughly enjoyed followed by the chance to meet the players off the pitch, have a chat and get an autograph.

The evening ended with a chat with the fans who asked a few questions which Darren Mullings answered.

Yate Town manager Darren Mullings commented about the evening “It was fantastic to see such a great turnout of Yate Town supporters last night – from lifelong fans to the next generation of young Bluebells. The atmosphere was brilliant and it was a real privilege to have them all watching our final session of pre-season. Events like this are so important, not only for the team but for building a stronger connection between the club and the community. The players really appreciated the chance to chat, take photos and sign a few shirts after the session.

Thank you to everyone who came along and made the evening special. We look forward to seeing you all on Saturday and throughout the season. Up the Bluebells!”

Whilst Chairman Mark Thorne was really pleased with the evening saying, “What a fantastic evening. To see so many turn up to watch the team photos, be involved in the photos and then the best bit to see the young ones in their respective club kit join in and play a small sided match against some of the first team staff and players was amazing to watch. Together We Achieve.”

These photographs were taken by Jack Palmer, a young photographer who lives in Yate as the club looks to give opportunities to students to advance their media studies and Jack is likely to involved with the media team through the coming season.

Jack was pleased to be involved and commented ”Fantastic and enjoyable night watching the squad in action and training hard. It was a great opportunity to see the boys in the new club shirts and I am looking forward to see how they will perform in their upcoming season”.
