Club Statement

On your next visit to the South West Interiors Stadium will look slightly different. We are pleased to announce that Yate Town Chairman, Mark Thorne, and his operations committee have been tirelessly negotiating with local housing association, Bromford Housing, who have purchased the 3 plots of land surrounding the club.

Whilst we’re not quite ready to release the finer details of the planned works, we can say it’s very exciting for the club and probably the biggest thing to happen in the club’s recent history.

We can, however, say the iconic trees that surround two sides of the ground will be coming down as part of the works. Please understand they need to come down as they are dying and could cause a health and safety issue. It is planned that a fence will be erected to enclose the ground, with the addition of a stand on the north side of the ground (opposite the dugouts). Also, new LED lights will be installed with the 4 middle masts being removed and the lights stacked on the remaining 4 corner masts.

As soon as the plans have been finalised with Bromford we will release details and hopefully you will see what an amazing transformation this will have to the ground. It’s so important that we enhance the infrastructure at the ground and as crowds are increasing, we must deliver an improved match day experience.

Bromford is delighted to be working together with the club and Lodge Road Sports Ground Ltd on these improvements; to compliment the affordable homes we will be building on the land around the ground.
