Yate Town FC are saddened to announce that kitman James Hicks has decided to call time as the club’s kitman from the end of June. James joined the club when he moved over from Paulton Rovers when John Rendall was appointed as manager in the autumn of 2022 and has been an integral part of the backroom staff since then, washing and preparing the match day kit for the first team and last August he also included the same jobs linked to the three under 18 sides.
James commented, ”I have made the very difficult decision and one that I haven’t taken lightly, to step back as my role as kit manager. I would like to thank everyone at the club who I have worked with during my two and a half years. I will especially miss being around the players and staff during match days. I am hoping to still be a part of the club in some capacity. Up the Bluebells.”
The club would like to thank James for all that he has done over the past few years and he will always be welcome at the South West Interiors Stadium.
The club will now be advertising for the post of kitman as they search for a replacement.
