Match Preview: Chertsey Town vs Yate Town

Yate Town look to continue their unbeaten start, as they travel to Alwyns Lane to face Chertsey Town, Saturday, August 15th (3:00pm).

After late heartbreak on Tuesday night against Chippenham Town, the Bluebells make the journey to Surrey looking to make it seven points from the opening three games.

THE OPPOSITION

Last season The Curfews finished just outside the play-off places in seventh, on 67 points, just five off of Berkhamsted who secured the final spot.

Now, Chertsey Town look to continue their perfect start to the season having won their opening two games. Those wins came away at Gloucester City as they ran out 1-0 winners thanks to a goal from Joe Grant. On Tuesday they thrashed Berkhamsted 4-1 at home. The hosts opened the scoring inside 15 minutes as Nathan Minhas opened his account for the season. He would later go and add a second to make it 3-0, with Luke Robertson getting the goal in between both of his. Darryl Harrison would then make it four on the hour mark, before Ryan Blake grabbed a consolation for the visitors, 10 minutes from time.

RECENT MEETINGS

The two sides shared the spoils on both occasions, with the sides seeing out a 0-0 draw at the Southwest Interiors Stadium last August.

The two sides would then meet again in April, where they would draw once more, this time 2-2. The Bluebells would open the scoring through Dani Gonzalez Birchill. Chertsey would then level the scoring 10 minutes before the break, through Nathan Minhas. Yate would then restore their lead through Archie Taylor, before Brad Wilson levelled things up two minutes later.
