Yate are back on their travels as they make the short journey up the M4 to Chippenham for this evening’s replay against the Bluebirds.
The winner of this evening’s replay will travel to either Cray Wanderers or Maidstone United on the weekend of 3rd October.
This is already the third meeting between the two sides this season, and across the 180 minutes that have been played so far nothing can split the two sides.
The first came back in August as Yate made their way to Wiltshire for their first away game of the season. Defender Tyrone Duffus was on hand to give the Bluebells the lead on the stroke of half-time as he headed home from a Sam Morcom corner, just before the interval.
However, his first half added time strike would be cancelled out in second half added time by Martell Taylor-Crossdale, stealing all three points away from Yate.
Once again last Friday, nothing could separate the two sides. It would be Marcus Day who would come closest to breaking the deadlock on Friday night. Day twist and turned before shifting it back onto his right and rattled an effort against the crossbar midway through the second half.
Given the two teams hadn’t played a competitive fixture in over 12 years the two sides are definitely making up for lost time, with the possibility of another meeting still possible in the FA Trophy ahead of the reverse league fixture in March.
