Yate Town get their FA Trophy campaign underway at the South West Interiors Stadium against Hampshire based opponents Sholing F.C.
The Bluebells and The Boatmen will battle for a place in the first round proper of the FA Trophy.
The Opposition:
Sholing arrive at the South West Interiors Stadium off the back of a 1-0 victory over Devon based side Tiverton Town in the FA Cup third qualifying round. ‘The Boatmen’ also compete in the Southern Premier Division South and currently sit 17th in the table. So far this season Sholing have picked up two league victories, one away at Poole Town (0-1) and one at home against Gosport Borough (1-0). The visitors have picked up two wins in five away games so far this season.
Last season, Sholing put together an impressive campaign and finished just outside the playoff spots in sixth place.
Previous meetings:
The Bluebirds and The Boatmen have met six times in the past 13 years. The two sides most recently met in the Southern Premier Division South last season. Yate Town and Sholing split the points at the South West Interiors Stadium last August in a goalless draw which was the first meeting between the teams. Sholing secured a 2-0 victory over The Bluebells in the reverse fixture at home in January which was the most recent meeting between the two sides.
