Preparations for the upcoming season is fully underway by John and his management team and he has provided the following update.
“We continue to work tirelessly behind the scenes as we look to rebuild the clubs infrastructure, which will enable us to have a productive and positive season as we continue to build links between the playing squad/ committee/ management/ ‘club people’ and the wider community including the excellent following our club has.
Following a disappointing season and much upheaval I will be working closely with the Chairman to ensure we get the club striding towards a sustainable future and making sure we have a club to be proud of.
On the playing side Toves and I are pulling together a squad that we feel will be competitive, committed and dedicated to giving everything possible as we begin to evolve again as a football club.
When we arrived at the end of the calendar year last season the squad picked themselves up mounting 20 points relatively quickly and we gave ourselves a real fighting chance of survival which sadly in the end we fell just short. I thank the squad for their efforts and look forward to strengthening where we can.
We have put together a robust pre-season schedule which will be gruelling for the players but will stand us in good stead as we prepare for the 2023/24 season.
Once the league registration forms are distributed to the clubs at the end of June, we will be in a position to announce to our fanbase how the squad will be shaping up for the new season.
The Club’s people/volunteers have been doing a tremendous job on the ground through the summer break as they continue to put in countless hours of time and effort into their football club.
Enjoy the summer and we look forward to seeing everyone back at Lodge road in July in the sunshine!”
