Ross Stearn signs for Yate Town

Yate Town are pleased to announce another signing with the vastly experienced goal scoring midfield player Ross Stearn added to Darren Mulling’s squad for the coming season.

Stearn (33) has played most of his career in the National League South and National League over more than a decade scoring goals regularly for Weston-Super-Mare (in two spells), Bath City (in two spells) Sutton United (in two spells), Eastleigh, Chippenham Town (in two spells) and Taunton Town.

He was at Bristol City as a youngster and was briefly at Forest Green Rovers, Weston-Super-Mare and Chippenham before establishing himself as a regular at Weston when Bath City noticed his potential and in 2 seasons at Twerton Park he scored 28 goals. He then joined Sutton United in the summer of 2015 and helped then win promotion from the National League South to the National League. Ross then signed for National League Eastleigh in November 2016 but returned to Sutton United a year later before returning to Bath on loan then signing permanently for them in 2018. He joined Chippenham in the summer of 2020 before moving to Taunton Town in November 2021. He then left Taunton Town in the summer, along with a number of players.

Ross has been a regular goal scorer at all his clubs and has scored some spectacular goals from free-kicks and long shots.

On signing Ross commented, “Daz was one of the main reasons for me signing and he told me about the ambitions of the club and I wanted to be part of a club that was hopefully going to win things. It also fitted at this stage of my career.”

Yate Town manager Darren Mullings, pleased with another quality addition to his squad said, ”I’m really excited to announce the signing of Ross. He is a player of real quality and has an eye for goal. His winning mentality and experience will add a lot to the side”.
