Last night, at the Leonardo Royal Hotel in Southampton, the Southern Football League had their annual award ceremony for the 87 clubs from the four divisions of the competition.

During the evening, Yate Town team manager Darren Mullings and assistant manager Paul Tovey were presented with the Southern League Division One South Shield (the same one that was presented after the Bluebells 1-0 win against Didcot Town on 26th April that secured the championship but now with the club’s name engraved on it) plus a salver was presented, which the club can keep.

A group photograph was also taken which included some club officials.
Our thanks to Yate Town’s James Hicks and the party from Merthyr Town who took these photographs and it was a nice opportunity to meet up with old friends and colleagues from the time that Paul Michael was manager of the Bluebells, with the Welsh club celebrating their championship season and promotion to the National League North.
