CHAMPIONS: a massive congratulations to the Yate Town Western Counties Floodlight Leagues squad, who secured the Northern Division tittle at Cribbs on Tuesday evening with an outstanding 3-0 victory.
This result confirms promotion to the Premier Division with a game to spare – a fantastic achievement. It has been a gargantuan effort form the lads this season. Having started their Western Counties Floodlight League journey a year early and playing up an age group, they more than held their own last season (2024/25) with a respectable finish. This season they have taken it to another level reaching the semi-finals of both the GFA Cup and League Cup, narrowly missing out on the finals but showing great quality and resilience throughout. There was no sign of the boys taking their foot off the gas in the league either, following up last week’s emphatic 6-0 win in their final home game against Brislington to then seal the title in style at Cribbs.
