Following on from Guy Lomas’ wonderful gesture to do a sky dive last month to help raise money for the Great Western Air Ambulance Charity and the Bluebells Booster Budget, a cheque presentation was made to the GWAAC for £360 just before the friendly against Westbury United last Friday, with a similar amount going to the Bluebells Booster Budget.

This was the final fund raiser for the club’s charity of the season over the past 12months with around £1500 raised for the GWAAC.
Yate Town Chairman, Mark Thorne said, ”It has been a wonderful experience to get to know the people at the Great Western Air Ambulance Charity and to help raise funds to support the amazing work that they do. We will, of course, continue to keep an ongoing relationship with Philippa and Brian, who has now become a regular supporter, with his wife, at home matches. We will be announcing the charity that we will support over the coming 12 months shortly and will also let everyone know the final total that was raised for the GWAAC over the past year”.
Philippa Walker, Supporter Engagement Coordinator, ”We are so proud of all the amazing fundraising Yate Town Football Club have carried out for GWAAC over this past year and we are immensely grateful for their support. GWAAC has had a particularly busy start to the year. In the first six months of 2024 we have been called out 1,159 times - a record Jan-Jun for call-outs. Compared to the same period in 2023, the number of call-outs has increased by 201, which is an increase of around 21% (1,159 v 958). Support from our incredible community members is therefore needed now more than ever. An enormous thank you to each and every person who has been involved in this season’s partnership. You are all local lifesavers!"
