Yate Town FC Statement

Yate Town FC is appalled to hear about the alleged racist chants directed towards a Gloucester City player, during the match between Gloucester City and Yate Town on Friday evening, 5th December, at Gloucester City’s ground.

Racism, discrimination, and abusive conduct of any kind are completely unacceptable and have no place at our club, in football, or in wider society. We have a zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of discriminatory behaviour.

Such actions are a breach of FA rules and may also constitute a criminal offence. We are working closely with the relevant authorities, including the police and football governing bodies, to investigate this incident and identify those responsible.

This kind of behaviour is utterly unacceptable and undermines the inclusive and respectful environment we are committed to building for everyone connected with Yate Town FC.

The safety, dignity and well being of all players, staff and supporters – both ours and those of opposing clubs – remain an absolute priority. Nobody should ever feel, unsafe or targeted while attending a football match.

We urge anyone who witnessed this incident at Gloucester, to report it confidentially by emailing chairman@yatetownfc.co.uk

We thank the overwhelming majority of our supporters who follow the team with passion, integrity and respect. We remain committed to fostering an environment built on equality, respect, and inclusion. Anyone found to have engaged in racist or abusive behaviour will face a significant ban from attending Yate Town matches, whether home or away.
