Plant manager Justin May enthused, “Graphic Packaging International are proud to announce our sponsorship with Yate Town Football Club. Our sponsorship will ensure that our partnership with the club will continue for the next 3 years.

Graphic Packaging International has been operating in Yate for one year. We are already one of the largest employers in the area and we have ambitions to expand further. It is pleasure to match our ambitions with a forward-thinking football club such as Yate Town FC. Together we will strive to bring the best and I am sure we together will realise all of our ambitions.

We are also proud to be involved in sponsoring the under 18’s. GPI are always looking for ways to help our local community and the idea of sponsoring grass roots football is appealing, as it provides so many benefits to young people. From learning to work together, to staying active, competitive sports teach children valuable lessons that they’ll carry with them throughout their life.”

In response Yate Town Chairman Mark Thorne said, “This is such an exciting time for the club on and off the pitch, the wonderful news earlier this week that we have managed to secure Darren Mullings on a 2-year contract to lead the club on the field and now we have this wonderful news that Graphic Packaging International will partner the club off the field.

The 3-year deal is an amazing step in the right direction and for the club to be associated with a global brand of GPI. I have visited the site twice over the last year and the transformation they have undertaken is breath taking, the way they have set up the site and the wellbeing areas built for staff to relax, and refresh is unbelievable.

Justin (plant manager) and I have spoken at depth about the links into the community both at the football club and the works and we share the same values and just can’t wait to see where this partnership takes us.

The sponsorship has enabled the club to start up the U18’s arm of the club and this is so important going forward and we hope to see Justin and other GPI employees enjoy coming to Yate Town FC at future home matches”.
