Yate Town Under18s start their Floodlight League campaign with an impressive win

Yate Town U18s 4-0 AEK Boco U18s

Yate Town Under 18s impressive performance, at the South West Interiors Stadium, saw their season in the Western Counties Floodlight Youth League (North Division) get off to an excellent start.

Following being knocked out of the FA Youth Cup on penalties last week, the team responded in great style. After dominating much of the first half the deadlock was broken just before half time when following a corner Yighitan Kepil struck a thunderbolt from the edge of the penalty area to give the home side the lead.

With Tyler Wood and Max Davies stretching the Boco defence, Kevin Contreras delivered a precise cross for captain Tyler Wood to finish from 6 yards to double their lead.

With Boco reduced to 10 men, Yate hit the woodwork three times before, on 75 minutes, Max Davies raced clear and calmly slotted the ball home.

Debutant Leo Honeyborne capped a memorable night by adding a fourth late on with a composed finish.

With a crowd of just over 100 people at the game, including Yate Town manager Darren Mullings, and his assistant, Paul Tovey watching, the Under 18s next game is at Keynsham Town on 23rd September.
