Bluebells suffer heartbreak in added time as Chippenham score equaliser.
Yate started the stronger of the two sides as within five minutes captain Joe Guest won the ball high up the pitch before playing it inside to Marcus Day who saw his effort go narrowly wide of the bottom right corner.
The hosts did comeback with two chances of their own inside the opening 15 minutes as Martell Taylor-Crossdale fired an effort from just outside the area with Aaron Sainsbury saving his effort comfortably.
It would then be Felix Miles who would come forward for the hosts as shot from a tight angle with Sainsbury also keeping his effort out.
The Bluebells would fire back with a chance of their own though with just under 20 minutes having been played, Sam Morcom delivered a corner towards the back post for Guest who was just unable to keep his header down.
A few minutes later Yate would come forward again with two more chances. Day would thread the ball in behind for Rex Mannings who fired his effort from a tight angle and would see his effort role just wide of the far post.
A minute later James Taylor would find himself in behind the Bluebirds defence and one-on-one with Harvey Rees but was just unable to keep his effort down.
With just over 10 minutes left in the first half Morcom delivered a corner towards the far post once again with Tyrone Duffus rising highest but was just unable to keep his header down.
In first half additional time the Bluebells would take the lead. Morcom would deliver a brilliant corner towards the far post for defender Tyrone Duffus to meet and head past the diving Harvey Rees to give the away side the lead at the interval and his first goal for the club.
Half-time – Chippenham Town 0-1 Yate Town
The hosts came out firing to start the second half. Winger Joel Odei-Larbi, fired from range and rattled the crossbar as the hosts tried to set the tone.
However, a few minutes later the Bluebells would come forward with a chance of their own. Marlon Jackson laid it off on the edge of the area for Day who looked to bend one into the far corner but saw his effort go just wide.
In the latter stages of the game the hosts continued to apply the pressure as they looked for a leveller, but the Bluebells defence continued to stand strong and keep the hosts out.
However, despite Yate doing well to see the game out the hosts would find an equaliser late in added time. Following a long thro into the Bluebells area the ball would fall to Taylor-Crossdale who fired home following Sainsbury keeping the original effort out.
Despite conceding late on Yate had a chance to regain the lead in the seventh minute of added time. Substitute Ethan Streeter played the ball across the area for Chris Zebroski to fire home but Rees was able to keep his close range effort and the hosts were able to clear.
