Yate continue their unbeaten start to the season with a brace from Marcus Day.
The Bluebells started the game superbly, putting the visitors under pressure from the off. In the opening minute, Yate Town had a long throw launched into the penalty area which was not dealt with by Bracknell and Chris Zebroski was tripped in the box, winning an early penalty for Yate. Marcus Day stepped up to the spot and fired the penalty into the top left corner for his first goal of the season.
The home side continued to dominate the opening exchanges in what was quickly turning into a scrappy contest. Another good chance for Yate as Zebroski breaks down the wing and finds Day in plenty of space on the edge of the box but his shot sails narrowly over the bar.
Bracknell started to have more success down the Yate Town end. Their first chance came from a ball that wasn't cleared by Yate, forcing Aaron Sainsbury to make a save. Bracknell troubled the Yate Town goal just a few minutes later with a powerful shot glancing just over the bar.
The momentum would swing back in Yate Town’s favour though. Zebroski intercepted a pass 35 yards out from the Bracknell goal, he was driven down the sideline but couldn't find a Yate Town player in the box.
The Bluebells doubled their lead half an hour into the game. Zebroski chested the ball down to Marcus Day whose shot from the edge of the box found the far corner for his second of the game.
The Bluebells went into the half time break a comfortable two goals up courtesy of Marcus Day and looking like the better side in a scrappy game.

But it was the visitors that came out fighting straight away in the second half. Bracknell found themselves with a brilliant opportunity to score but their shot was blocked by Sam Hendy on the six yard box.
The first 10 minutes after the break were all Bracknell Town. Their efforts in the Yate Town half were eventually rewarded as Adam Liddle’s effort from outside the box found the back of the net to make it 2-1.
The home side thought they had a third goal late in the second half as a header from the returning Archie Taylor found the back of the net. However, the referee called play back for a foul committed by Taylor.
Bracknell were far from out of the game as they had a flurry of chances with 15 minutes left to play. The first was from goalscorer Liddle whose first time volley was not away from Aaron Sainsbury's top corner. The second came from Harry Cooksley as his strike from outside the box whistled past the post. However, The Robins were really threatening the Yate Town goal.
But The Bluebells withstood the relentless pressure from Bracknell and would secure their second win of the season. Another three points added to their tally sees Yate Town climb to fifth position in the Southern Football League Premier League South. Next up for the Bluebells is an away trip to face Poole Town FC on Saturday 29th of August.
