Match Report: Fry Club 1-2 Yate Town U18’s White

Yate Town U18 White shaded a close match as they defeated Fry Club 2-1 in Division 4 of the Bristol U18 Football Combination League this afternoon.

After a goalless first-half in which the home team had a goal ruled out, the young Bluebells came out with much more fire in the second period, and took a deserved lead just after the hour mark, when Freddie Tizzard’s free-kick was headed home by Billy Read for the defender’s third goal of the season.

Ten minutes later, though, the hosts were level after some indecisive defending gave their player the opportunity to lob goalkeeper Joe Tibbert.

But Yate weren’t to be denied, and sub Dom Hodges was set up by Tizzard for a late winner, and to seal a Man of the Match performance from the forward, who played a big part in changing the game when he was introduced at the break.

Yate Town U18 White host Whitchurch Sports next Sunday as they look to build on improved recent form.

Starting XI: Joe Tibbert; James Penfold, Billy Read, Zack Wigginton, Cameron Nutt; Tristan Base, Billy Michael; Freddie Tizzard, Jack Perry, Kian Bryant; Stephen Adeniyi.

Man of the Match: Dom Hodges.
