Match Report: Keynsham Town 3-1 Yate Town U18’s White

Yate Town U18 White ultimately came away empty-handed after the succumbed to a 3-1 defeat to Keynsham Town, despite edging the game for large periods.

The hosts took and early lead when a cross-shot deceived goalkeeper Joe Tibbert, but the young Bluebells worked their way back into the game and equalised with 20 minutes played. Man of the Match Billy Michael’s corner was headed back across goal by striker Stephen Adeniyi, and defender Billy Read was on hand to finish with an audacious scorpion kick to secure a second goal of the season.

Yate were pressing for a lead, and a Cameron Nutt effort from distance was close, but they still had Tibbert to thank as the goalkeeper produced two brilliant saves to ensure that his team went in level at the break.

The second half began much as the first ended, and Freddie Tizzard saw a couple of good chances to give his side the lead go begging, but the best opportunity of all came with half an hour to go. Yate were awarded a penalty after Jedd Miller was adjudged to have been felled in the box, but the goalkeeper guessed right to save the resulting spot-kick low to his left hand side.

And the Bluebells paid the price as the home team struck twice in the final 10 minutes to seal the win.
