Match Report: Yate Town U18’s White 1-2 Keynsham Town

Yate Town U18 White bowed out of the U18 League Plate at the first hurdle as they fell to defeat at home to Keynsham Town, despite the best efforts of Man of the Match Freddie Tizzard.

After a goalless first-half of few chances, Yate took the lead in the opening monents of the second half. Preston Fear’s corner from the right caused chaos in the area, and midfielder Tristan Base was on-hand to force home his second goal of the season.

But the lead only lasted 15 minutes as Keynsham pounced on a poor clearance to equalise, and the visitors took the lead in the 70th minute, before wrapping up the win late on after a poor backpass.

Yate U18 White have a Sunday off next weekend before retuning to league action with a tricky trip to Hanham Abbotonians on 23rd February. Their Blue counterparts begin their U18 League Plate campaign next Sunday as hey travel to Swiss Valley Rangers.
